January 8 - Saint Thorfinn

Thorfinn was a monk who was virtually unknown, but when his tomb was accidently opened during a construction project, a very pleasing smell was emitted. Then the monks began to remember his kindness and strength. Thorfinn, was apparently Norwegian and was involved in the agreements between the king and the archbishop. An agreement was signed, but it was later revoked by the king, sending the archbishop and Thorfinn into exile. St. Thorfinn was sent to the Netherlands and worked in a monastery. He gave away what little he had and lived poor and simply.

Have you ever felt the call toward a life in politics? Do you consider that from there you could offer good service? Do you get upset when nobody recognizes what you do?
