205 West Monroe Street, Chicago, IL 60606
The Claretian Summer Ministry Program is a program of the Claretian Missionaries in Chicago. It provides an experience of ministry, community, and spirituality that helps deepen one’s sense of vocation. Your ministry opportunity in the program will be arranged based on your skills and interests as well as the needs of the communities where we serve. Examples of opportunities include working with children, youth ministry, social justice, medical clinic, legal clinic, and neighborhood organizations. The program provides an experience of discernment of vocation in general, lay as well as religious. Length of service is mid-June through the beginning of August. The program is open to men and women, 18 or older, interested in vocational discernment and ministry. Room and board, a stipend, and transportation to and from the ministry site are provided. Participants live in community with up to six other participants, and possibly with Claretians. Orientation and final retreat also provided. Application deadline is June 8.
