Teresian Association

3400 99th Ave., Miami, FL 33165

The Teresian Association is an international association of the laity of pontifical right. In 1911 St. Pedro Poveda called Catholic educators in Spain to join forces in response to legislation hostile to the faith and to be present wherever the faith could not be proclaimed to give witness with their own lives. Today we are present in 30 countries, working in every aspect of education. We constitute an association of associations, with the same vocation and mission, but different commitments. Members impact the world through their professional commitments. We also have joint projects of education throughout the world coordinated in the Socioeducational Movement. In the United States many members work in various schools and universities, as well as in the health professions and media, and in the Chicago area we run the Poveda Education Project, which includes an adult education school.
