De La Salle Christian Brothers

The De La Salle Christian Brothers are the largest order of religious Brothers in the Roman Catholic Church dedicated exclusively to education, especially the poor and disadvantaged. Today, the Brothers and 77,000 lay colleagues minister to over 900,000 students in 84 countries, an educational heritage of 330 years that ranges from store-front schools to great universities. The Founder of the Brothers, Saint John Baptist de La Salle, is the Patron Saint of Teachers. His charism, example, and extensive writings continue to inspire teachers to dedicate themselves to those entrusted to their care. “To touch the hearts of your students and to inspire them with the Christian spirit is the greatest miracle you could perform, and the one that God asks of you, since this is the purpose of your work.” Live simply - Pray deeply - Teach passionately - Stand with the poor.
