Bernardine Franciscan Sisters

450 St. Bernardine St., Reading, PA 19607

IIn 1894 Mother Veronica and four daring women left their European cloister and responded to the call to serve the immigrant church in the U.S. Bernardine Franciscan Sisters, Lay Associates and Volunteers in Mission reach out in the name of Jesus to God’s people across the continental U.S., Puerto Rico, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, and Liberia (West Africa). Trusting in Divine Providence and rooted in contemplative prayer, we strive to create communities of love and service wherever we minister: early childhood, all levels of education, catechetics, retreat centers, health care, parish and diocesan ministries, as well as with and on behalf of the poor especially women and children. The Gospel, Francis, and Clare permeate our formation programs for Sisters, Lay Associates and Volunteers in Mission.

Do you have a Franciscan heart? Are you willing to journey in faith and joy, sister, and servant to all? Contact Sr. Shaun Kathleen Wilson, O.S.F.
