Today, as Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange, we collectively and individually focus our unique and diverse talents to bring unity, compassion, and reconciliation to a troubled world. The Sisters of St. Joseph share a common mission: To bring all people into union with God and with one another, serving their spiritual and corporal needs in all the works of mercy within the power of the Congregation. Because of our desire to follow the example of Jesus, each of us is deeply committed to alleviating the conditions that cause ignorance, poverty, suffering, and oppression.

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny, founded in 1807, are an international missionary congregation with approximately 3,000 sisters bringing hope and compassion to people around the world. In the province of USA and Canada, the sisters currently minister in San Pedro, California; Plainfield, New Jersey; Middletown and Newport, Rhode Island and Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The Sisters are involved in ministries of education, parish ministry, small Christian community development, religious education, spiritual direction and retreat work, and social services.

We are women who strive to live in a contemplative relationship with God and with all of creation through our prayer life, especially Perpetual Adoration. We seek to live simply while serving in a complex world, anchored in our prayer life, supported in community, and responding to the unmet needs of our times, especially women and children, with generous love, justice, mercy, and compassion.
