At the beginning of each year our mind is filled with goals, new ideas, hopes, commitments, dreams to achieve or simply self renewal.
A new year has begun and we have told ourselves that now we will probably spend more time studying. We tell ourselves such things as, “this year I will join the football team, quit smoking or enroll in the University.”
The promises that we make year after year, believing that now we will achieve them, just because another year ended, are simply dreams that are unlikely to become reality.
The fact is that God does give us the opportunity to renew ourselves any time we want and we don’t need to wait for the year to end so we can start a new life.
Priests often tell us during Mass that the time to change is now; it is time to straighten our lives and return to the right path.
“Go and sin no more,” is a well known advice that Jesus gave to a woman. She was invited to renewal, to a complete change of life, and it was not a new year.
When God granted sight to the blind man, he was given a change of life, and it was not a new year.
God gives us the opportunity to change. We only have to start and the change will take place. We are so loved that change would not be denied if it is within the path to our salvation.
Let us not get swayed by mystical traditions, since God expects us to make real changes in our lives for his glory.
Take advantage of the opportunities given to us so that each day we have a better life, filled with challenges and dreams. I invite you to have great goals and to make every effort to carry them out. It is from great ideas that dreams emerge, which in turn become the challenges that are transformed into the great projects that are today's reality.
God gave you the ability to achieve whatever you desire and the option to decide when you would like to begin. Today, you have the last word or you can wait until next year.
May God bless you and fill you with the Holy Spirit.

This was an interesting topic
By GabrielaThis was an interesting topic because it’s true what the article said about people wanting to change always think would be in the beginning of the year. If people are willing to change they would do it at any time not just at the beginning of the year. It’s their will to change God is not telling them change is them because they want to. If people want to change they should because they would feel good about their decision.
