We are close to Christmas and we are awaiting many things. Some are expecting gifts, or members of the family to arrive. Others hope the time goes by fast because they are sad about people who are absent or they don’t like so much activity and noise. But all those things are just waits, not hopes. Hope is much deeper: With hope you expect the coming of God into our world; we yearn for peace; we yearn for the joy to know that God is near.
