Oh no sir, I do not deserve to have you come into my house. Just give the word and my servant will be healed.  Matthew 8:7

There was a person suffering from a grave illness and kept asking why this had happened. Yet he also immediately asked himself, “and why not me?” The problems and pains in this life are not deserved, and it is not luck. It all comes from the graciousness of God. But we are also infinitely worthy because we are created in his image and likeness. We do not ask for things because we deserve them or because we are good, but because God is good. God does not love us because we are good; we can be good because He loves us.
