November 8 – Reflection of the day

It often seems difficult to forgive certain things. We sometimes say, “I can forgive, but I can’t forget.” Does that mean we are not forgiving? If someone asks for forgiveness and we tell him or her they are forgiven, but later we repeatedly remind them of their transgressions, did we truly forgive them? Have we given the opportunity for a new beginning? Have we allowed the offense to plant the seed of mistrust in us?

What do I have difficulty forgiving? Is there something in this moment that seems almost impossible to forgive? Where do I seek to heal?
