A French nun from the 7th century, Bertilla felt the call of God at an early age and wanted to found or join a monastery. Her parents sent her to a monastery that followed the Rule of St. Columbanus. When Bertilla arrived, she realized she had found peace. She was the abbess of her community and her monastery grew greatly. But St. Bertilla always knew that the true power came from God and not from her.
