Narcissus was the bishop of Jerusalem during the 3rd century. There was a conspiracy against him and with great trust in God, Narcissus retired to pray in the desert. The accusations were later proven to be false, and he returned to Jerusalem as bishop, and in spite of the fact that he was very old, he seemed to have more energy than ever. When he finally became ill, he asked God to send him help. He was succeeded by Alexander of Cappadocia.
