They were the first apostles of Jesus. Simon is called “zealous” of the law and passionate about Christ and his gospel. Jude is often called Thaddeus, the brave. He is also known as the patrón of difficult and hopeless causes. Many people have a great devotion to St. Jude, who intercedes before God for us in those most difficult times that may appear hopeless.
