The son of humble Italian farmers, from a young age, Timothy was very devoted and began to serve as an acolyte in the parish. There he met a young priest, Giacomo Alberione, who was about to begin the Society of St. Paul. Timothy liked the priest, as well as the idea. He entered the diocesan seminary, but soon asked for permission to join the new order founded by Alberione that is dedicated to evangelizing through media.
