Saint Bruno is known as a very quiet saint. And yet, he wasn´t so all his life. He was a Theology professor in France and had an important position at the University. But he was not really that impressed with himself and he increasingly felt a thirst to be alone with Jesus. He founded the Carthusian Order, whose members devote themselves  to prayer and silence. Some of us may think such life must be boring or sad, but Bruno was always joyful and did not want to see any sad monk.
