August 30 Reflection - God has consecrated me to bring the Good News to the poor

Ha, ha ha ha ha…children irritate each other by creating jealousy with things they have and others don´t. Adults also do this, but much more subtly, of course. There come a time, however, when things do not cause envy anymore. What does create jealousy often is the qualities, talents and good works of others. The same happened in Jesus´ time. People saw the good things he was doing and, instead of rejoicing, they become angry because they are not doing them themselves… The person who rejoices in the good talents and works of others is great and elegant. He or she recognizes the work of God in the other people, even if she or he does not have those talents, but others.

Are you sometimes resentful because others have capacities or talents you don´t see in yourself? Does that blind you to your own talents and the calls of God in your life?
