August 12 - Blessed Victoria Diez

She was a rural teacher, of a public school, in Spain during a time when the teaching of the religion was persecuted. Even though Victoria did not directly teach religion in the schools, her devotion and compromise to the church were well known in the town where she lived. At the start of the Spanish Civil War, she was arrested with 16 men from her town and was given multiple opportunities to reject her faith, after every execution. She died crying out “Long Live Christ the King”, after witnessing the death of all her companions.

Do you give witness of your faith, without having to speak? How can you do so?
