Peter Julian Eymard was brought up with great austerity, hard work, and by very strict parents. He worked with his father but during his free time Peter was dedicated to prayer. He wanted to become a priest but his father was opposed. In the end, Peter’s father consented and he was ordained into the priesthood. St. Peter Julian Eymard founded the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament, which is dedicated to the perpetual adoration of the Eucharist.
