They called him "The Priest of the Gallows" because he was present at all the executions to console and encourage the condemned. He was ordained priest at the age of 22 and had only taught John Bosco, who put his patience to the test filling his house with children that he had brought from the streets. Joseph Cafasso helped Bosco and gave him everything he had.
