He was the son of a senator in Cordoba, Spain, at a time when the area was dominated by Muslims. He became a priest and was the principal of a religious school. He was appointed Archbishop of Toledo, but because of some problem, he was never installed. He had been helping Leocrazia, a Christian young woman who was persecuted by her own family, and he was arrested and condemned to death.
