She was the daughter of Roman noble people and her parents married her to Lorenzo Ponziano, with whom she lived for forty years in perfect peace. In an invasion of Rome, her husband lost everything they had, but years later he recuperated it. Upon Lorenzo’s death, Frances founded a community of Benedictine Oblates.
