March 3 - Saint Cunegunde

Some medieval saints had really strange names, but not such strange lives. She was the daughter of a count and, when she was or marrying age, she got engaged to Henry, Duke of Bavaria, who later became the king of the Romans and was also a saintly man. They lived united in their piety and love for God, even if Cunegunde was object of lies and libel. Upon Henry’s death, she left behind all the royal honors and entered the monastery where she served all as the last one of them.

Do you find it hard to give up the comforts that you are used to? Do you resent it when you lose at something? Would you do that willingly out of love for God and desire to serve others?
