He came from a wealthy family and his parents didn’t like it a bit that he decided to become a monk. But he desired to abandon all his privileges and entered the monastery. He was an abbot and a bishop and had to face invasions and pagan influences. His fame as a holy and kindly man brought many honors upon him, but he was never vain or proud.
